I'm Rebecka Sexton. I've spent over two decades making healthcare work better for the people inside it.

PeopleLabs is a strategic foresight and service design consultancy founded on a simple belief: better healthcare starts with actually listening to the people inside it.

I've done this work on every side of healthcare — payer, provider, patient, and community. That full-system perspective is rare, and it's what makes the difference between solutions that look good on paper and ones that actually hold up in the real world.

My approach combines strategic foresight, service design, and deep human-centered research. I don't just study what's broken today — I help organizations understand what's coming and design for it before it arrives.

My background includes working with many start ups and leading service design and innovation work on staff at: Roanoke Memorial Hospital (Carilion Clinic) · OSF Healthcare · Health Care Service Corporation · Optum / UnitedHealthcare

During graduate research at IIT Institute of Design, I worked on: a community health project addressing diabetes and food access in Chicago's Hispanic community, in partnership with the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition and funded by the MacArthur Foundation.

I'm also a speaker and futurist. This October, I'm chairing Day 2 of Food HealthTech LIVE in New York, opening and hosting the day for the industry's health systems, payers, and food companies. Most recently I presented at Dignified Futures, a conference dedicated to designing more dignified health futures — work that sits at the heart of everything PeopleLabs does.

I believe dignity isn't a nice-to-have in healthcare. It's a design requirement.
